Ellington at Wachesaw Plantation East : A Transformation

As we begin Elevating the Journey, we’re going to stay in touch via blog posts detailing the renovations that are either ongoing or planned at some of our most popular resorts. If you’ve visited Ellington at Wachesaw Plantation East in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, lately then you may have already noticed some subtle changes taking place – the lobby has been updated in our new light beach theme decor, and we’ve got a new fire feature on the central fountain located on the spacious, relaxing patio located off the golf course.

But that’s just the beginning of the transformation at our flagship resort. We plan on Elevating the Journey inside the rooms and out, to provide a more relaxing and satisfying vacation experience for all of our guests. Here’s what you can expect in the rooms, and stay tuned for more blog posts detailing the rest of the improvements to the golf course, restaurant and grounds.

All rooms will be completely renovated top to bottom in a new, vibrant beach décor, with work being done in the off-season in 2018 and 2019. There’s already a model two bedroom and one bedroom unit in place to view, with all room renovations scheduled for completion by spring 2019. (See photos below, or take a virtual tour here.)

We designed the new rooms with comfort and style in mind. Guests will enjoy new televisions, kitchen appliances and comfort items such as ceiling fans and bedding. It’s an updated, beach-oriented look that reflects upon the fun and carefree attitude of the Carolina coast. We hope you find it welcoming for you and your family during your stay at Ellington. It is our goal to make renovations and upgrades as seamless as possible, with few disruptions to the Festiva service you expect and deserve. We’ve put a lot of thought and research into what owners want, and we sincerely hope you enjoy the new amenities and upgrades. From our family to yours, let’s toast to Elevating the Journey!

Continue to visit the Festiva Blog, where we will post the latest updates on renovations at all of our properties, including timelines, photos and more throughout the process. We will also send occasional emails to members with updates, so be sure we have your current email address.

  1. I’d love to see some before and after photos. I haven’t been to this location, so it would be great to have a comparison. The new look is very nice!

    1. Hi Miss Jordan, I’ve uploaded some “before” photos of the rooms at Ellington at Wachesaw Plantation East to this album: https://imgur.com/a/qRfEu

As you can see, the transformation is quite noticeable! We hope everyone enjoys the updated, lighter look.

  2. The renovations look great; when I think of Festiva, this is the sort of décor one should expect. I commend you on elevating the standard Festiva stands for.

  3. I stayed there once several years ago and I said never again…. it was way outdated…. you have a lot of work to make this place a jewel again.

    1. Ms. Jacobs, We are certainly looking forward to all our members benefiting from the projected changes! Thank you for your comments!

  4. I am under the impression that you will be starting on Phase one, Will you being doing one building at a time . Then move on to the next? Or two or three at the same time ?
When will the first one bedroom in phase one be completed. I would like to book three months snowbird and have been staying in phase one for five years. And would like to know when the rooms are ready for booking, so I can get into a new room after five years of antique TV , and broken furniture , weak internet etc. But we come down from Canada with other Canadians for the winter and many of us stay away from the course and enjoy the quiet of the woods .
Thank you for any information !!

  5. Was wondering if the golf course cuban restaurant has been changed and is there any info and pictures available of the course restaurant, fire feature, is the swimming pool being upgraded ? New menu? Any pictures of the new reception ?
    Thanks again
    Wayne and Debra

    1. Mr. Stone, At this time the menu for the restaurant has not changed. That being said a new menu is in the works and expected top be implemented within the next couple of months.
