As part of our Elevating the Journey campaign, we’re proud of the scheduled room renovations at Ellington at Wachesaw Plantation East. But don’t worry, golfers won’t be left out of the upgrade equation.
The property’s award-winning golf course, Wachesaw East Golf Club, and East Grill and Pub were acquired by Festiva at the beginning of 2017. Some upgrades have already taken place, with many more on the horizon.
Golfers will already notice it’s a little brighter on the course as 300 trees have been removed to shed new light on the links. According to golf course manager Rob Mosser, this promotes better turf growing conditions and better playability.
“This is part of our bigger picture of the continual improvement of our turf conditions,” he says. Two fountains have also been added to the lakes on holes 8 and 18 as part of the long-term beautification plan.
Players will also notice a little extra smoothness on the cart paths, as they’re being renovated starting this winter. New asphalt will be added in some places, and tree roots will be smoothed out in other places.
The golf carts have also been refreshed with USB ports, a nice amenity that allows golfers to charge their phones while enjoying the course. And starting in 2018, the course will host junior clinics and events, with special rates for resort owners. The Father and Son Team Classic golf tournament will also return on July 19, 20 and 21, 2018; click here for more information.
If you’re looking for the latest in golf fashion and technology, the on-site pro shop will continue to stock name brand merchandise from trusted names in golf such as Foot Joy and Nike. It’s a great place to stop to stock up on last minute items.
