Tropical Storm Nate: What You Need To Know About Your Gulf Coast and New Orleans Reservations This Weekend

Tropical Storm Nate is expected to strengthen into a hurricane and impact the Gulf Coast early Saturday night into Sunday morning. Hurricanes are unpredictable- Nate’s path can take several directions and it will gain power as it moves over the warm Gulf waters.

As of noon on October 6, guests of Frenchmen New Orleans, The Shores, and Palm Beach Resort who are scheduled to check in Oct. 6, 7 and 8 must postpone their arrival until Monday, Oct. 9 at the earliest. We regret the inconvenience this is causing, however, guest safety is our highest concern.

As of now, there is a voluntary evacuation for St. John Parish near New Orleans, and a mandatory evacuation of non-residents in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama. There is a good chance of a mandatory evacuation order as the storm draws closer. The storm could bring high winds and a significant storm surge, leading to flooding, power outages, and road closures.

Stay informed via local weather channels and the national hurricane center. As always, the safety of our resort employees and guests is our primary focus. Please continue to check the Festiva Blog as well as the Festiva Facebook page for updates from specific resorts regarding evacuations, closings, damages and recovery. For weather updates, please check local resources for the affected areas or visit www.nhc.noaa.gov.
