Greetings, travelers. Let’s see what’s going on this month and next in central Florida. If you’ve got a trip booked soon, you won’t want to miss these fun activities!
Starting Feb. 28, the Epcot International Flower and Garden Show runs until May 28 and features brilliant gardens, fresh flavors, interactive playgrounds and live entertainment. Don’t miss this fun event at Epcot Center in Disney World!
Comedy fans won’t want to miss the Orlando Indie Comedy Fest, March 1-4. This non-profit independent festival run by the comics is designed to fund the local Orlando comedy scene. It brings comics from all over the country, as well as locals to perform great comedy in Orlando.
Venture out to Plant City, about 60 miles southwest of Orlando, for the Florida Strawberry Festival, March 1-11. This boisterous gathering has a midway with carnival rides, live entertainment, and of course, all sorts of strawberry desserts and strawberry food to try! Singers, impressionists, magicians and stunt dogs comprise this year’s lineup of new free entertainers, and new hamburgers and desserts will be added to the 11-day event’s menu of foods.
Grant, Florida is 80 miles southeast of Orlando and hosts the Grant Seafood Festival, March 3-4. What sets this seafood festival apart from others is that it runs through a 100 percent volunteer effort! All preparation, whether it be on the grounds or with the purchasing, cooking or serving of the various menu items is accomplished by volunteers of the community. Fresh seafood is what the Grant Seafood Festival is all about. Each booth is unique and steeped in tradition; many have several generations working side by side using time honored recipes.
Get on your hog and ride to Orlando Bike Week, March 9-18. It’s fun in the Florida sun with bikes, tattoos, live music, food, drink and other entertainment.
