Hello, travelers. For this week’s Wanderlust Wednesday post, we’re going to feature some upcoming events on Cape Cod, that wonderful protrusion of land in east Massachusetts.
Cape Cod is 399 square miles of legendary New England vacation spot. Fifteen quaint towns filled with local art, woodsy, windy roads, rocky coastline and beautiful beaches, maritime history, looming lighthouses and luscious lobsters add to the romance of this historic American getaway. If you’re traveling to Festiva’s South Cape Resort and Club (or elsewhere on the Cape) soon, here are some fun can’t miss activities.
The Boston Wine Festival is the nation’s longest running wine and food festival and runs Jan. 12 through March 30. This upscale event features intimate winemaker-hosted dinners, seminars and receptions. If you’re into wine, make it a point to get to this festival, featuring many of the best wineries and top personalities from the world of wine.
While in Boston, check out the fascinating Science of Sharks exhibit at the New England Aquarium, running through Dec. 30, 2018. This new exhibit features sharks from around the world. Observe a Halmahera walking shark using its fins to crawl along the reef, watch a developing epaulette shark pup wriggle in its egg case, and check out the handsome stripes on a pyjama shark.
For art lovers, the Outermost Inspiration Exhibition showcases new works by Cape Cod and national artists capturing the beauty of the Cape. The show runs Feb. 1 to Feb. 28 at the Cape Cod National Seashore’s Salt Pond Visitors Center in Eastham. The show is curated by Helen Katherine Addison, owner of the internationally respected Addison Art Gallery.
