Greetings, Festiva travelers. Are you going to Atlantic Beach, North Carolina soon? This barrier island is characterized by four fantastic public beaches, lighthouses, and nature trails. Visit Fort Macon State Park, a Civil War relic that also offers visitors beach access. The N.C. Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores has stingray touch tanks, river otters, sharks and thousands of aquatic animals. Stand up paddleboards, deep sea fishing and kayaks await the more adventurous traveler. Climb the Cape Lookout Lighthouse
May 16- September 16
The Cape Lookout Lighthouse is open for climbing May 16 to September 16. Self-guided tours of up to 10 people will begin every 15 minutes during the hours of operation. First climb starts at 10:15 a.m. and the last climb starts at 4 p.m.

30th Annual Beaufort Music Festival
May 18-May 19
For over 30 years, the free festival has taken place each May in Beaufort’s historic downtown, and the town is packed on Friday and Saturday with locals and tourists alike enjoying the beautiful weather and great music.

11th Annual Crystal Coast Boat Show
May 19-May 20
The 11th Annual Crystal Coast Boat Show will take place on the Morehead City waterfront, Friday, May 19 and Saturday May 20. Entering its 11th year
, the Crystal Coast Boat Show is one of Eastern Carolina’s premier events, featuring marine products and services, fishing gear, boat brokers, sailing races, boating education and various activities, including an antique car show. Admission is free to the public and all events are hosted in beautiful downtown Morehead City, North Carolina. 


Crystal Kai SUP Cup 2018
May 19
The Crystal Kai SUP Cup takes place Saturday, May 19, 2018, with up to $20,000 in prizes! Plus come Friday for FREE stand up paddleboard clinics ranging from introductory paddling to race pro tips. A beginning clinic for kids has also been added to the schedule of events this year. Novices, elites and groms are all welcome at this WPA-sanctioned race.

45th Annual Morehead City Antique Auto Show
May 19
Come down to Katherine Davis Park in Morehead City for the 45th Annual Morehead City AACA Antique Auto Show, held in conjunction with the Crystal Coast Boat Show. Open to all AACA Classes, modified & custom autos manufactured 1896-1993. 

5th Annual Atlantic Beach Beach Music Festival
May 19
The AB Beach Music Festival takes place Saturday, May 19 at the Circle on the Boardwalk. Bands performing are Band of Oz, Fantastic Shakers, Jim Quick & Coastline, and Mighty Saints of Soul. The Beach Music Week events include a poolside Carteret County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours on Wednesday, May 16 at the DoubleTree by Hilton – Atlantic Beach Oceanfront with The Embers and a sponsor’s reception at Memories Beach Club on Friday, May 18.  

38th Annual Swansboro Rotary Bluewater Fishing Tournament
May 24-May 27
Expert fishermen compete for prizes up to $45,000.

Summer Concerts In The Fort 2018
May 25
The afternoon concerts at Fort Macon were so successful there are two scheduled this year. All concerts are free although donations are most welcomed. Doors open early for picnickers and all who want to take in the beautiful setting. In case of rain, the concerts will be held inside the Education Center at the Fort.
