Here’s a quick rundown of our resorts in the path of Dorian:
Florida properties: Orlando/Kissimmee area properties continued to operate during the storm and are running business as usual. Over on the coast, Coconut Palms Beach Resort 2 and Ocean Gate at Hibiscus Resort were spared any damage and only have some debris on the properties. They will both reopen to guests tomorrow, 9/6, but please note that cleanup may still be in progress and the pools may not be able to open this weekend.
For our South Carolina resorts, we won’t have much of an update until tomorrow. They will be feeling the effects of the storm until late tonight, and teams will go to the properties tomorrow morning to assess the damage only when it’s safe for them to do so. We anticipate that the Church Street Inn in Charleston will be closed at least until Wednesday, September 11. We hope to have more of an update tomorrow.
We must also note that Coconut Malorie in Ocean City, Md., is expecting prolonged rain and sustained winds of 30-35 mph, along with moderate flooding during high tide cycles beginning late this evening for approximately 24 hours. Our team there has secured everything on the exterior of the building and are operating as normal while keeping an eye on the storm.
We thank everyone for your patience and concern for our employees and resorts. The most important thing is that our staff members and their families are safe and sound.
